I'm in the market for a czech/ddr WL female pup and was looking at Czech-Dogs.com/karel sedlacek.
Any insights into this breeder? His dogs look pretty good.
thanks

I've worked with Hana Mišíková, she is fair, helpful and send me the best dog I've had to pleasure to own. She lives close to the border of Germany and Czech Republic.
If she doesn't have what you're looking for, she can at least help you to find another breeder that is trustworthy.

Nothing to say about this kennel - neither good nor bad...
What I don´t like ( maybe it´s only me ) - according to their website they use 14 females for breeding right now - that´s at least 20 litters or more every year ( nothing special in the Czech Republic in working dog kennels, though )
There are several workingline kennels in Eastern Europe like that, a lot of litters, and a dependence in the US for selling the dogs.
This doesn´t say anything about the dogs in special, I simply don´t like it.

I took a look at " Czech-Dogs.com/karel sedlacek ", as I told you, I know nothing about the quality of their dogs, just don´t like the amount of females they breed.

I have imported from Karel .and i can tell you ,you will not go wrong importing from him.he is very honest and you will get top quality dogs or puppies from him ..He is the best as far as im concerned..I imported a ZVV1 Czech male from him and what i got was way better than what i expected .one outstanding male gorgeous and outstanding temperament ....if i were you karel is the one to import from ....

All I can say about him is that I imported a total of 5 pups from him over a period of 3 years, unrelated, several years back. 3 of 5 came down with HD, I told him and he didn't do anything about it. Now I know that most of the European breeders dont guarantee their pups, but to me that was alot of pups that I bought that didn't turn out, and I felt he should have at least given me 1 pup for a reduced price for it, but no he didn't. I don't do any more business with him.

Thanks all for responding,
I've tried to contact this breeder a couple of times via email and it's usually two weeks before I get a reply. I can almost expect that from a breeder after they get the money and the transaction is done but it's really a "Red Flag" at this stage of the process.
Makes me nervous - I think I'll look elsewhere!

3 of 5 unrelated puppies is not good. I'd look at environment if 3/5 of anything unrelated was afflicted with the same ailment.

@Jenni- I made a mistake in previous post,(Writing from work, distracted) I bought 2 sets of littermates, shipped together. One was 2 sisters, then a couple months later I got 3 littermates. Its much more cost effective to import 2 pups together as 1, since they can ship together in same crate for really no extra cost. I've raised multiple pups the exact same way over 20 years, no difference as these, and these were the only ones who had such HD problems, so I'm not saying its environment.
