Petros

Hello to all, I have a question regarding dog mating. After the tie happens, my male does not attempt to pass his leg over the back of the female so that they come back to back. He prefers to stay by her side. Is that ok or for proper ejaculation to take place, this specific - back to back- positioning is needed?
Thank you all in advance!

Hey Petros

I am not sure about the ejaculation aspect -but if you are worried about it - move it over for him.

Some males try different positions. Some females try things too. Different positions like spin on your back, take the male this way. All just a part of the process. Rest assured, if they are tied, the job is getting done.

They all have their own little ways, one of mine stays on the bitches back and goes to sleep!

It does not affect ejaculation standing side by side as opposed to butt to butt.

Remember, ejaculation happens early on; position of tie really shouldn't matter. If, however, he used to put his leg over and has stopped, you may consider there being something physically bothering him, ie, back, spine, etc. if he doesn't want to fully twist around. It'd take a whole lot wrong with most males to not want to breed at all (that goes for all species) but he may be trying to be as comfortable as possible.
