Fundraise??? If you are going to participate in this sport at all, you must be able to afford such an expensive "hobby." (I say "hobby" only because I know some see it that way. The fact is, for those of us who actually train, it is a lot more than a "hobby," it becomes a lifestyle.) If you are going to compete at that level, including trying to make the Team, I am sorry, but you had better be able to afford it yourself, in terms of monetary expense, time off from work, etc. Both organizations provide some financial assistance for their respective members. Some clubs and/or regions voluntarily raise money to assist a member who makes the Team. That is as it should be.

WDA has typically sold apparel as fund-raising measure for its members, and that, too, is as it should be. ( Frankly, I have always thought it was an excellent idea, and I wish USCA would also sell some type of "supporter" jacket to raise funds for the Team.)

Jointly financing the event is as it should be as well, although each being responsible for the event in alternate years is jointly financing, and as much as needs to be done, IMO.

Now, what will the whining be when the results of the Qualifier are the same as this year? Hopefully, having a non-American judge to judge the American Qualifying Trial, most likely held in the American heartland, to select the American Team to the WUSV Championship, representing two American organizations and their (primarily) American membership, will be enough to forestall un-American sour grapes and un-American whining next year. We shall see. Anyone want to bet me a quarter that we hear the same whining?

BTW-- Is the WUSV Championship really now scheduled to end a day early??? With the host hotel having a waiting list of 50 people for rooms, surely there is not a financial issue. So, what's the story, Sitasmom?

Nia,

It's obvious from this years qualification trial that a impartial foreign judge is needed.
Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder could see the favoritism in the judging. This whole topic has been  based on a lie.
You have tried to make it seem like the WUSV rejected the WDA request when it fact the request was withdrawn because a solution had been negotiated between the three parties.. It would be nice if you and your friends would grow up and think about the dogs and quit acting like  Junior High Schoolers

All that is going to happen is just what i said should happen on the thread earlier in the Year when there was so much going on with Guys for and against the judging. However it was the only logical way to go, meaning the way they are going to do it for 2014
For me the fair and right way is for one judge for each phase and an impartial judge doing one of them. over here in tiny Belgium we are lucky with help towards the finances and the V.V.D.H sponsers the team members but not the reserve Guy going with his or her Dog, which i find a bit hard. but it does help a huge amount
