I picked up an abandoned 2 week old kitten today from my vet.  After feeding it, with Rosé watching, Rosé took it upon herself to start cleaning the kitten like a mother cat would.  I will try to post pictures (after I am sure kitten is safe while I am distracted).

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH;  what a girl.  Once a mother always a mother.  Don't you just love it.  Good work Rose.  Nan

Lol  This thing never shuts up when it is awake.  Even Rose is now saying, "get me out of here."

Kitten is a little over 2 weeks old.  Now the question is will Rose take care of teaching it the socialization and hunting skills it needs.

Oscar my yellow cat was raised with my dogs, he slept with 2 grown dogs and when he was 8 months old and was whopping 34 pounds we got Bailey 21 week old GSD who was under 32 pounds, those two grew up together i have videos of them playing, they slept together, ate together...I am not a cat person...and Oscar is my perfect cat because he behaves more like a dog than a cat...you call him he comes, he does not get on furniture, he plays rough with dogs and tries to bite their neck (the way Bailey used to bite his neck)..you say "sit" and he sits along with dogs, he knows "no" he knows "leave it", "off" , " breakfast/food"...not because i taught him but because he was one of the "pack" and he associated my commands w/ their actions and so he did the same thing...it is actually fascinating...I think i would take a cat raised by dogs any day now...LOL

Here is old picture of Bailey and Oscar (I am sure i posted it before)

this one is when we first got Oscar he slept with dogs at night.... Dozer and Misty

Dogs are amazing animals...and great Cat Sitters..LOOOOOL

Wow.  So there is hope.  I am not a cat person either, but if this cat can learn 'sit' and 'off,' maybe he will not be booted to be an outside barn cat.  Regular Smile

MY cat, that passed away a few years ago, was alot like a dog. She would sit, down, come and speak on command. I too love the cats that are raised with dogs...
Here is my Quibley. She passed away Dec 2009...
