With all the cancers that our dogs seem to suffer from, I made a list of toxins I know my dogs have unfortunately come in to contact with. I try to avoid them, however, they seem to be everywhere. Tracking in public park in the early morning, I did not know the night before it had been sprayed with a pre-emergent weed/bug killer. While walking we went through some very small rock like substance on the sidewalk, it was granulated weed killer. Lawn fertilizer. Near the curb there are oil and anti freeze drips, the dogs then lick their feet. There is slug and snail bait in gardens, some poison some animal safe. Then there are all the flea/tick/heartworm prevention sometimes overused and don't forget the vacinnes. Dogs that travel in dog trailers are sniffing toxic fumes from exhaust, some for an extended time. Some dogs swim in questionable water. Then there is poor quality food that has god only knows what in it. It seems our dogs cannot get away from it, even when you use common sense toxins can be very sneaky. Can you add to the list?

For those that still read books, I recommend these:
"Protect your Pet" and "Foods Pets Die For" by Ann Martin
also:
"Are You Poisoning Your Pets?" by Nina Anderson and Howard Peiper
Out-of-the-box thinking strategies.. they get you thinking and seeing some of these issues from a different perspective.
