Hi Everyone,
Some of you have been asking for an Ava update :)
Here goes.......
Ava taking her first ride in the back seat of our F350....doesn't she just look like the queen of the seat....age 10 weeks old

Hahhh you can not escape me....he he....under our bed

Here her ears are beginning the dance to stand....age 12 weeks

We went on vacation for a week and came home to super cuteness girl :).....age 14 weeks

She and Cisco....(my two year old male)....are getting along great. We allow them to play together in the house (under supervision). He is very good with her...even when he corrects her for getting to rough. I tried letting them play outside (under supervision) once, but he got so excited he nearly bowled her over.....so my husband and I are going to wait until she gets a little bigger before trying that again.
Today she went on her first solo (without big brother Cisco) Lowes outing......I had to carry her into the store because the pavement was to hot for her to walk on.....but once we went through the sliding doors she'd had enough of that and wanted down to explore everything within reach of her leash. Nothing
fazed her.....she was friendly but aloof towards other people...could've cared less about the other dogs who passed her....and was curious about the saw and not afraid. As we walked down the lumber isle I asked her to jump onto one of the low rack stacks of lumber. It was about 18 inches tall and there was a 15 inch gap from the top of the stack to the bottom of the next stack.....She happily jumped up into the stack and walked the 10' length....exploring the area.....very athletic....bold little girl.
I tell ya...I'm thinking this little girl could do disaster work when she gets older......Sunday.....I had her climbing on the pallet pile....walking unstable planks, climbing up a set of stairs and traversing the tetter totter in my agility course.....She loved it.
On the flip side......she wears me out...LOL.......After describing a typical day to my mom she started laughing and said, " she's a toddler with four legs".....You high drive puppy owners know what I mean. A typical puppy day is non stop......potty breaks.....supervised out door play time....which usually consists of at least several foreign object extractions from her mouth.....after I catch her. I have to keep a constant watchful eye while in the house.....If not...... I might find her plucking carpet threads........one at a time out of the carpet.....or standing on top of the coffee table chewing on the TV remote. The only down time I get during the day is when she's in her crate taking a nap.....yee haw.
Tomorrow will be the start of her official SAR training.....I'll keep you guys updated.
Gotta go time to play.....

Cheri,
Thanks for the update! Great pictures and I would say it looks like the search was on for kitty, (nice looking kitty, BTW), but maybe the rescue part wasn't on her mind? LOL What a little diva on her designer bed, too! I can't believe the stuffing is still in it! Ha!

Thanks Everyone
........She's an awesome puppy....I'm having a great time with her.
Bee......That is Cisco's bed and I'm pretty amazed that she's left it alone.....lol.....The kitty under the bed love's dogs and wants to be her friend but Ava intimidates her a little. So far Ava's been pretty good with the cats and I have hope she and the kitty's will eventually become friends.
Jyl.....She does doesn't she....(a baby Angel).
Her SAR training is this evening. We are going to start puppy run away's and work on the agility equipment. I'm hoping to get some video....if I can I'll post it later.

They grow up so quickly, don't they? Enjoyed reading your update! She is adorable. Both of mine LOVE cats as well, but unfortunately none of the cats I own even remotely like dogs.
