From Chris ( Danger received 87-88-85=260 which was 6th place.) And due to an accidental foot injury he didn't score as high as was hoped. Seems some other stuff was also afoot but he won't discuss it in public. I'll guess i'll get the dirty details when he gets by in town.
Which i can't post either as that would be in bad taste.
Bummer things didn't go better, but still proud that he was there repping USA.

The Results are not yet finished it seems, and even i do not know at the time of posting who won the Sieger, I know it is not Jonny Degens Dog IPO as said above; I do not yet know the Obedience result of Dirk Leemans Dog Gucci; they are very slow in putting up the results as they finish; and my bet is they will not be far away unless something happened in the program.
I knew Chris had 87 for Tracking but could not find out why his other scores did not go up i wanted to speak to him but it was not to be
According to what i was told the tracking fields were ploughed furrows with grass patches on a fair bit of Grass but it was the sort of Grass that even if trod on very firmly it springs back up and visably the tracks were hard to see but it is the dog who is tracking not the handler. I know this for fact because my own Dog Gina is trained on such Fields purposely to get her used to any surface .
Whether or not any thing was amiss with the Judging or anything else as one suggests there may have been above i do not know as i was not there every day all day.
What i did see was fair enough. at times i was not impressed with some Helper work on the Saturday  morning but they are the ones who do it not me and they were selected from 6 Guys whom 5 i know fairly well.
Regards the Belgian Team it is not possible for them to win the team event. Two Dogs were pulled out one through injury before the event and one the reason unknown to me. another Belgian Female Dog was pulled out as it started Tracking, and was taken to a Vet and was still there the same night so i do not know much more about this dog. One Belgian Male Dog failed the Tracking so there are not enough Males left to get a complete score for the team event

Good that this was not the qualifier for the WUSV as only 3 dog/handler teams scored 270 or above ..  with the scores looking like some of the conditions were outside the normal range in either judging or environment or both.  The Taiwan (TPE ??) participants had a good showing despite getting the further-est from home trophy.

I want to find out what has happened to the B phase of Dirk Leemans  Belgium, and also two German Contestants. if a dog is disqualified then it shows it up in red there is nothing on several Phases for a few Dogs Dirk scores A 94 B - C 94.
Tomorrow i will know what did happen. and on the Show section Chris from the USA is not got any rating at all; again i will find out why he has not got a Show rating

What i saw of it the Judging was fair; I did not see any Tracking but the surface was not easy for dogs. that is why my Female is tracked on such a surface three times a week; and once on another kind of Grass etc including ploughed fields and hard surfaces
The Protection Judge was very entertaining in her way of explaining the resume of the handlers dog in its work. She like myself did not use all the fancy names sometimes the words like Side transport and Escape but overall in anyones plain language in English she made her point in a light hearted way but certainly did not give points away for nothing earned, I thoughly enjoyed listening to her get the good and bad points over to the contestants.
For those interested the Belgian team has yet to be selected for the WUSV, that will come after the Belgian Championships and i certainly expect to see at least three different dogs and handlers be selected for the WUSV

From what Chris said seems Danger missed an article. Even though he had a couple of chances to practice the tracking since Florida doesn't have grass like Norway. I've seen him track many a times and i'm suprised that he missed anything. He's a very deep tracker. But who know! I don't have any clue why he did not get a show rating. ?????

Congrats to the winning teams! Hope everyone had a good time.

German fields aren't different from Belgium's fields so the tracking must have been something "special" for the Germans to do poorly in three of their 6 tracks.

I would not be so sure about that statement Bubba, Regarding German fields are no different from Belgium Fields. i have seen a few tracking fields in Germany and they are not on the type of grass that these dogs tracked on but Germany is a big country.
Saying that not all Belgian Fields are:like the ones tracked  on. I have seen Club Members dogs go wrong on such types of grass. I have heard a few complain or voice the fact they cannot see anything in the way of a track themselves. I reply it is the Dog doing the tracking you are behind the dog so we do not need to see. That is why my dog in mostly tracked on this type of field for that very reason. They must get used to all fields and we make sure she does. For instance fields where rabbits burrow and live hundreds of them we track through the Rabbit Poo and even by pass corpses on a track. there is nothing like tracking on a field where Cattle have recently been moved off  Fresh Cattle Poo is a great challenge as is rabbit poo. If a dog can track through the fields and conditions we ask them to then overall we can be confident when the time comes to earn the points it is ready. plus the training track is at least 3 times longer than an IPO 3 track and at least 7 plus articles are laid. do this 4 times a week every week winter and summer then you should expect a fair result as i mentioned Gina is even tracked at night by the side of a motorway to throw a bit of light from the cars plus a small light attached to the hat, and she takes it in her stride? For me there is no excuses not that in this case anyone is making them, it is training that counts every time until it becomes just a natural thing for a dog to do

I did catch a little tid bit about why he didn't get a score on Danger in conformation. The table person checking him in told him that he would not need his Scorebook and Pedigree when he came in for conformation because they would have copies in hand.
When he gets to the show for conformation the judges tell him he must have his paperwork. Which was back at the hotel. He did run back for his papers, but by the time he got back they are already started and he missed entering the show.
So no score.
But none the less a learning experience.
