Swifteagle

by Swifteagle on 05 May 2013 - 09:05

Hi guys,

I have this little fellow 8 weeks, He only goes to the toilet where he is some what private.

I have not been able to get him to just do it in the middle of the yard, he always seems to want to do it privately, hehehe...

Has anyone encountered this behavior before, is there an explanation for this?

Thanks

Don't stare!

We have many dogs that come in to board that go behind bushes to do their biz.  It is really funny!  Top breeds that seem to do this Labradoodles, blue heelers and Standard Poodles :)  I have alot of dogs stay that will not do their duty on a leash :)

I actually teach all my dogs to go on leash because nothing is more frustrating them getting ready for a show, your next in the ring and you dog hasn't potty'ed yet. Because you know the second you go in that ring and they feel a little stress. Bam, poop in the ring!
Plus it make travel easier when you can get the dog to "Go on command" as it were.
My recomendation take the pup for an nice long walk and encourage him to go potty on leash. Treat and tell him he's a "Good Boy" for doing his business. He'll get it.

My female also insists on her privacy :-) she's 2 years old now and always goes to the back of my property.
