Sounds awesome!  How did this happen?  Does that mean we get Working Qualifications on KC pedigrees now?

by kyto on 26 March 2013 - 12:03

that's not a good thing if you ask me, especially the part where SV makes the rules for UK to now

It will be interesting to see just how this agreement develops, especially within the UK. It will also be worth observing The Kennel Clubs approach. Without a doubt there will be a number of challenges to resolve, where patience and care will need to be exercised by all involved, in order to achieve constructive progress for our GSD Breed within the UK.

The GSD League of Great Britain is clearly ahead in the UK with the WUSV System, and have actively developed the WUSV - GSD League - British Regional Event System over the last THREE YEARS. I have no doubt the GSD League are the "foundation" for progressing these WUSV & Kennel Club - Joint Objectives.

All GSD lovers & Enthusiasts within the UK are most strongly advised to join the GSD League of Great Britain, a WUSV Member Association, though the GSD Leagues "website" - and keep themselves to the forefront of GSD Progress here in the UK and World Wide. The GSD League has a magnificent Working Dog Group (WDG) and a fast developing British Regional Group (BRG) - Every member receives FREE full colour GSD League Magazines, and membership subscription are very reasonable and can be paid online by Paypal. Our GSD Breed within the UK can only benefit through greater membership of GSD lovers & enthusiasts, in the GSD League of Great Britain.

Will the Kennel Club ever refuse to register litters from unsuitable breedings, and will certain exhibitors continue to ignore what's printed on the catalogue re KC rules ?.

Brilliant. Progress is coming, and we're lucky enough to be alive to see it happen!  Teeth Smile

Whoa, Spectator, two very different issues.
Will the KC ever refuse registration to unsuitable
breedings [eg non health-tested stock] - maybe;
fingers crossed we are getting closer.

Will some exhibitors ever stop double handling ?  OR
will KC Stewards ever stop turning molehills into mountains
in re outside attraction ?  Who knows ?

Ashley - I can't help wondering if the status of the collection
of Progressive Regional Clubs under the League's umbrella
now being WUSV recognised will lead to any similar tussles
that WDA  have had in the US ?  What happens here re Score
books ?

It would be great to think the KC will start recognising IPO titles
achieved on dogs [it would be nice too if everyone could agree
qualifications are a necessary thing and start putting them on
their dogs ...] but I think that might still be a long time coming.

Excellent posts from David n Hundmutter.Yes we will all have to wait n see.I,m certainly very interested to see how the KC are going to implement this agreement, especially in regards to a small minority of breeders who wish to split the breed in this country.Yes David,i am a member of the GSDL,in fact an OAP member.Carole S.

Does the League HAVE 'OAP' members ?  D'you get a reduced
rate of membership fee ?  Teeth Smile
Carole, I would not hold your breath, I think that initially our dear
KC will just ignore developments as they'll see it as 'nothing to
do with them' ... the KC may eventually have its hand forced, but
they'd better be quick or you and I will be too late to see anything
happen, we'll both be in our boxes by then, sadly !Cry Smile
Pessimistically yours, Linda.

David - where does this document fit into the big picture, has anyone
representing the KC even signed off on it yet ?
