To all who may have known Juile and Willi Ortner of von der Pfalz German Shepherds
Julie passed away on Friday (2/15) at 65 years of age. She had been in German Shepherds since the late 60's and Schutzhund since the early 70's, competed on the world team in the early 80s, and in 86, had me. She was instrumental in our breeding program, and a walking encyclopedia of working GSD lines. She had a dire passion for the breed only equalled by that of my father's.
It's a tough blow for us, but she is no longer suffering. She lives on in me and my daughter, who was the last light of her life.
My father and I will be holding a wake for her on March 2nd, in Hollister CA, at 2pm.
