I have a problem...my dog gets car sick. Around 12 weeks age, he would be throw up after 5 min of driving around, that has improved, and I can drive to about 30 min-40 min before he throws up now at age 1 year. This makes long trips difficult. I have started giving him medication for motion sickness before going on long drives.

Is this condition ultimately going to go away, or is it life long.

Guddu, I can't predict for your dog, but mine that were carsick as pups out grew it as adults, 1 at 2 years of age, another took until nearly 3 years old, but they all eventually overcame it. Keep trying, but buy a water proof seat cover in the meantime! Regular Smile jackie harris

and use some ginger before going in the car.  Take him just a few houses down each time, going a bit further each time. Try feeding him in the car when you arent moving.

You have not mentioned when does he eat in relation to the trip...
He should NOT be eating at least a couple of hours prior to going in the car...

My puppy was car sick, at age 10 weeks up to age 5 month only.

I have traveled with puppy maybe 3-5 times a week, and I guess she got used to it.

I have or had one. Keep driving. My girl stopped completely after 5-6 months.Good suggestion to start with short trips, then increase. Empty stomach always helps. Good luck.
Take care

maybe back track and start car training again. when my dog was a pup i use to sit
in the car with him sometimes i started the car sometimes we sat there without
starting the car. i fed him in the car. i use to drive the car up and down the driveway.
drives were short. i would drive 3 minutes in one direction and turn around
and go home. a 3 minute drive became a 6 minute drive, a 6 minute drive became
a 12 minute drive and so on. i also taught my dog to stay in the back of the car as
part of his car training.
