My vet reccommended that in the later weeks of her pregnancy ours be fed a good Puppy Food- I would suggest Royal Canin as they have special food made for the GSD dog.
Good Luck and may you have a nice sized litter.

What are you feeding now? Are you happy with that brand of dog food and if so do they offer a puppy version?
What is the age and condition on the female before breeding?
I raised my litter on Solid Gold dog food, from the second month of her pregency to the pups were weaned and over 6 months old. But that stuff is not cheap. At least use a brand that names the meat source and reduces use of grain fractions. Puppies need good quality protien while nursing and weaning. Thats really hard to get from a bag of Ol' Roy.

You bred your girl  produce puppies to sell but you don't want to spend $$ on food for her.  For a healthy Mom and healthy puppies you need a quality food.

Just Pay an extra $$20 -30 for a big bag. I dont think it is so expensive. since you have decided to bred your girl! Your girl and puppies will need this support from you.
I am sorry for saying that, no offence, but planning something like that, an owner should be prepared.

Good Luck! Wish you and your girl an easy delivery!

I would not feed puppy formula. I think the phosphorus content is way to high for a healthy pregnant mom.
Feed her the best quality food you can get. Royal Canin contains too much chicken and rice...not very good quality, in my opinion.
