Dog1, BS is not allowed at our dog training social club.....LOL..

We help each other, and what each member knows, thru their use of other trainers, is welcomed into our training conversations. Amazing how much a person can learn but teaching others!

We gather to have fun and train dogs and are able to do both. Not everyone wants to get IPO titles, some want CGC's or only BH's. As a club, we go to a helper/trainer twice a month (pay him $20 per dog and access to the helper members must also come for regular training at least once a month) , and the rest of the time we meet in my back yard. Learning bits and pieces....... BH pattern (for handlers first), heeling position, ring training, retrieves, send always, starting tracking, etc.

As soon as we can afford it, we will be getting some agility equipment (SV magazines has a section on agility every month and the SV scorebooks also have a place to put agility scores). So it will fit into the SV system. We have a member that goes to agility training with one of the best and she will be heading the agility training.

We have another WDA club in Houston starting up, and they are the traditional (serious) club. Prospective members who feel we are to lax are welcomed at the other club, and prospective members who want a more social atmosphere come to ours.

Regional director says he's never seen anything quite like our club and also likes seeing the comradely and accomplishments he sees. So, I guess its working.

I can't really accuse the WDA of leeching when in the past year as a USCA member I was invited to trial two dogs at an RKNA club and was not charged any additional fee because I am not an RKNA member.  Not only that but RKNA is not even an AWDF club (or wasn't then) so not even under the same umbrella as USCA. The club also helped me determine whether the titles would be recognized by USCA in order to obtain a breed survey or further SchH titles (they are/were) and never once discouraged me from entering.  I entered two dogs for three things and the club seemed happy to have my entries (and my money!), not annoyed with me for not trialing with my own club. I've also shown at WDA events as a USCA member and was never discouraged there either.

I really think the whole WDA leeching off USCA thing is much less of a deal than what it's being made out to be.  How often do our club trials absolutely fill up with USCA members?

Spare me the AWDF sister club BS. It's ok for UScA to provide judges and accept titles and such from RKNA a Canadian club who is in direct competition with the USRC, you know one of those AWDF sister clubs.  RKNA has over twice as many clubs in the US as they do in Canada. RKNA was started by a person who was thrown out of the USRC. It's ok to screw the Rottie people just not the GSD folks..I get it now.

I applaud the efforts of the RKNA, founded in large part by former USCA/USRC members who worked long and hard for the legitimacy that the organization deserves.  Nothing but praise.

Very good sidestep....I expected nothing less.

Some people just aren't happy unless they are bitching and whining about being victimized and taken advantage of. Good grief- it takes all kinds to make the world go round- it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

EliDog to be honest I don't even understand your response.  I've never owned a Rott or belonged to their clubs so I do not understand the structure or give a flying turd about their politics.  My point was that at this point it seems like the USCA is the *only* org complaining about other people entering their events.  I've entered RKNA and WDA events as a USCA member and those clubs never acted like they were being forced to allow me to enter or burdened by it.  As a USCA member I don't get why my fellow members are getting so riled up about this whole thing.  See how many WDA people even enter our events before we get our panties in a bundle.  They don't make trialing a priority in their own clubs so I doubt they'll have much impact entering our events.  A few people saying how they "would like to be able to".....OK, see how many trials they enter and dogs they title in the next year....
