Exploiting this tragedy with an obvious agenda on national television.
I found his performance disgusting and have a whole new view of the man.

Are you talking about him coming to Newtown? I saw something mentioned in the paper--- he was going to a memorial vigil in the town. I missed it myself, but my first thought was Wow! I mean I couldn't ever imagine him coming up this way, and on such short notice really, for any reason.

I find I have to think about this horrible tragedy in two ways, personally, for me to deal with it. Knowing the President came to speak in person acknowledges something, that really, I am having a hard time naming.

So you would have to be more specific in your disgust before I could begin to understand it. I have disgust for something greater, in my mind.

Think of all the lives saved if all facility member or school staff was armed. The government is the accomplice in these atrocities because they legislate us out of our constitutional rights to be armed at all times.

What nut job will enter a building to commit mass murders when everyone is armed ? The reason this stuff happens is because there is no resistance, we all all sitting sitting ducks and easy kills.

IF the government ever disarms us completely - it will be groups of nut jobs killing whole towns.

Moons, you generally have your own unique take on most every thread, but you are way over the top with this one.

Here we go again,,,,,the sky is falling.... THEY are going to take away our beloved guns.

Riddle me this - why does anyone need (or want) assault weapons, hollowpoint bullets, to fire 20 rounds with one load?  It's ending, get over it.

Didn't see the speech.  Probably not going to look for it.

Generally the people that do these types of things have every intention of killing themselves during the process anyways.

Thus I doubt they are concerned whether or not teachers, etc. are carrying weapons regardless.

Hear! Hear!  - Blitzen Thumbs Up

Totally incomprehensible, from the viewpoint of a country
without  a "right to bear arms".   Sure there will still be
criminals and illegal shootings;  but if the guns are not
easily to hand in the first place, there will be less cases
of 'spontaneous' type shootings, and those which do still
occur may do less damage.  This guy's prepper mother
kept FIVE guns he then had access to.  Not only does
your everyday Joe not NEED an assault or automatic weapon,
he doesn't actually need a choice of weapon !

Obama used the service politically which is bad enough, but I think he worked really hard on it in advance and that's odd for a second term.
He did not offer condolences, he made a speech touching on several issues hitting all the right key demographics, a well made plan of strategy.
I'm sure he feels something for the victims and their families, how could anyone not?
But he used this event and that changed my view of the man forever.

Check this out. This definitely says SANDY HOOK, and they are the only words visible on the map and then pointed too even. Pretty freaky.
Here's a large picture.
