I need opinions on this matter
                                               Bitch whelped in Aug 15th today found out she is in heat. Three month heatcycle. Have you ever bred your bitch this soon after whelping.

                               Thanks for your time and input of this matter.

She whelped Aug 15th.

Every bitch is different and there are quite a few factors here to consider. Let's suppose the dog is breed worthy and just go to the health and care of the bitch. How many times has she whelped? How old is she? what kind of condition is she in? How knowledgeable are you on this subject? What is her diet?
I think diet is one of the most important factors.
Anyone who has been breeding long enough knows 3 month heats are not uncommon in a GSD. I have bred one  after a 3 month heat because she was such a healthy strong dog and showed no signs of her body being in distress. The litter was very healthy and did not lose any of them. Smaller litter of 5 too which was easier on her.Then after I skipped her next 2 heats, (she was always a 3 monther)  bred her about 9 months later, she had a litter of 11 which was very hard on her. So it just depends.

That sounds about right, she is on 6 months heat cycle. If she whelped mid August, add 2 months to that, now we have almost mid December...  that is 6 months together.

Breeding females back to back is a normal practice, it depends on the female mainly.

Breeding back to back is only normal for puppy mills and I think is not good at all for the bitch.
But I guess if money is a motive then use her up while you can.

Poor dogs.

  Current veterinary doctors specializing in canine reproduction believe it is fine and normal for the bitch to be bred back to back as long as the last litter was not too hard on the bitch. Not breeding back to back can create it's own problems for the bitch. Be careful see for yourself the health and temperaments of the dogs in the breeder's care.

As I understand it the veterinary theory says its fine to do a pair of back to back matings;
there are some advantages.  But I have not heard any vets claiming you should KEEP
doing that without one or more cycles break ...

My Bitch is a good whelper and very healthy. She is and alpha and has never received my male we have used AI in the past.
 Because of her good Whelping and health i can go either way if the bitch receives the male after all this time them i will be responsible for that.
I have clients waiting but my dogfamily comes first. So i am not going to get involved in helping her get pregnant / like AI. i am just going to roll with it for now.
