Sooo...are you thinking of keeping all his children, then?  I ask only because the shelters are FULL TO OVERFLOWING with dogs whose mother or father had the very same qualifications for breeding as your Leo--they were fertile, had good breeding lines behind them, and their owners thought they 'should be bred one time before they were snipped', too.  Do me a favor, and spend some time on the Rescue pages of this forum, looking at the dogs that are in dire need of being saved from death at the various shelters, and think long and hard about how you would feel if someday, one of those dogs was your Leo's son or daughter.  'Cause there's a really, really good chance at least one of his children WILL be in that position, if you go through with your plan.

TFYI. All i would want is pick of the litter. I thought about that ??? But you cant always find what ur lookong for in a shelter ?? Did that before I put the money out for him?? Theres toooo much inbreeding to really find a pure bred????

I can assure you that your Leo's breeder would not breed him without first taking him through the working titles and conformation evaluations that are mandatory in Germany, no matter how beautiful or clever or loving he has turned out to be...and I'd bet he wouldn't suggest you do so, either.

LeoDe, again, all I'm asking is that you look at the dogs right here on this site's Rescue forum, and see how many beautiful GSDs of all ages are on the lists to be euthanized at shelters; dogs that are not only clearly purebred, but some that even are likely to be of similar bloodlines as your own Urbecke boy.

I am not too sure if you are aware of what you are getting into.  Just don't do it.

LeoDe, thank you for taking the time to consider the full impact of your idea.  It is the sign of a true dog lover.  RoseThumbs UpHeart
