Ninja181

by Ninja181 on 13 November 2012 - 21:11

After arriving home from work today, I had to use the bathroom. I have on a sweatshirt that has one huge pocket across the front. In that pocket was my cellphone.

While going I heard a splash. Voila, my cellphone was in the toilet. It is now completely dead.

Anyone else care to share a similiar self-destruction of personal property story?

Don't be shy, I could use a good laugh. That is when I get back from the Verizon store.

Like flipping my canoe over and dumping the camcorder in the river?
The estimated cost of repair being three times the purchase price?
Electronics and water do not mix....lol

Plug it in the charger, set inside a bowl of  dry rice overnight.... Cross your fingers....and hope for the best.

Been there done that, if power is on at the time it gets wet, it fries the chips.

Put it in the oven on low for 5 mins, be carefuul to watch the buttons don't melt.  I've jumped in pools to get my stupid dog out 3 times and the phone was fine.  I learned that trick years ago form a buddy who had a habit of going in his hot tub with his phone in his pocket.  Open it up and take the battery out first.  I have no experience with the urine smell you may have. I probably wouldn't try to use till you wipe it down with alcohol and baby wipes and completely sterilize it.  Ahhhh, just go out and get a new Iphone.

Well I'm back.

Of course before I left all I heard from my daughter was, hey, my phone is over two years old I need a new one also, blah blah blah. Good thing the wife isn't home or I'm sure she would want a new one also.

So I have a new phone, I showed my daughter and said how do you like it? She said oh it's beautiful.

So I said good, reach down the bottom of the bag, cause that is where your new phone is, and it's the same exact thing.

Now comes the hard part. How to change the ringtone, and everything else. LOL

Nice to know I'm not the only one to mix electronics and water. LOL

Jim, no Iphone.

I just bought my wife the latest Ipod about 3 weeks ago. That was over $800.00.

You mean Ipad right, not Ipod?  $800 for an Ipod would be a lot....it must be very very small.
