Is this a state issue or a federal issue?
Who profits from either side of the issue?
The cartels are bitching that legalization here would cost them billions.
Anyone have an opinion?
Oh, and do you have first hand experience you want to share ...lol

did you inhale or not.....LOL
Do you drink?
Remember prohibition, the crime and corruption, the violence and who made money from it?

Web; they are all public anyway, so I doubt they will come back and
bite me in any way. Someone has to 'go first':
I was a member of the Legalise Cannabis Campaign here for years,
from very long ago. Still believe on balance that drugs should be
legalised generally, because of the comparisons with tobacco &
alcohol, the likelihood it would reduce addictions, smash the cartels
etc etc. But if not all drugs, then certainly Marijuana for MEDICAL
purposes.
I don't partake any more, because I found it really difficult once I had
given up cigarettes; but yes I did inhale.
The year before I stopped smoking, I had to give up booze - because
I am now allergic to it ! A glass of wine or beer is not worth spending
the following 24 hrs spewing, imo. Never a particularly heavy drinker,
but for some periods a very regular 'social' drinker, the only thing I
REALLY miss is a long cold beer on a warm summer evening.
And I look round at the trouble excess drink causes everywhere & I
can't really say I'd be sorry if it was totally banned ...

Well I think it's awesome and it should be done in every state. Myself I smoked for many many years. I have niot totally given up--come by with a piece of bud and fine out LOL. But it is at the point where it is so expensive (like 120 a quarter here) that who can afford it and when they can who wants to share?
Hundmutter I agree with you about the drinking. Alcohol makes fools of people. I have now quit but in the last few years of drinking, I preferred to drink by myself. It got to where you'd have people over and everything is going fine and then all of a sudden a fight breaks out over who knows what. I used to drive drunk and it's a miracle I never killed myself or someone else cause in those black out stages I would wake up the next morning and not remember how I got there. Very scarey...............They worry about pot, they worry about people buying too much allergy meds cause they use it to make meth but the flow of alcohol goes on and on. I think it is the worst of the legals. Do I think it should be totally banned? Hmmm don't know. I do know in Texas I lived in dry counties and nothing seemed that much different. I know not drinking now nothing seems that much different. So it's definately something to consider. Maybe it could be like those allergy meds--you have to sign for it and can only get so muich at a time. It's a hard call..........................

first gets you the free set of steak knives, congratulations......:)
I still smoke from time to time, probably more than I drink, I can take it or leave it but am still badly addicted to cigarettes after many attempts to quit, odd that cigarettes are so addictive yet legal.
Even worst is what's in them and that the industry has never been held accountable or made to disclose the various chemicals and compounds to the public or government agencies.
Add the fact that they manipulate the nicotine content to increase sales and control of their market without labeling.
Another thing I always though out of balance was the sentences handed down for use and possession of drugs when compared to sales or violent crimes.
I do think the law must change at the federal level before states can make changes without conflicts.
Alcohol which is legal is in my opinion more dangerous and more widely abused than the herb.
I have personal experience with alcoholism is my family and it is destructive in so many ways including driving under the influence and the loss of life that it has caused.
I see the cost to our legal system as the law stands now, and a loss of potential tax revenues regarding legalization of marijuana.
Abuse of either, drugs or alcohol I believe is a social problem more than anything else.
The crime, corruption, and violence comes from money and that could be cured real fast with control and legalization.
At any rate I just wanted something else to talk about.
Thanks.

Good god !!
LOL............ for a weed that grows wild on almost every continent.
Yeah shit's expensive here too but not that bad, at least folks here do grow it.
Last time I bought any it was $50.00 a quarter and that was too much.

The second time was at Live Free or Die Rally and Willie Nelson was there and a tow behind smoke house !!! In order to gain access to the smoke house you had to hit a target from 300 yards away and you win 1 minute in the smoke house. That was crazy because all you had to do was walk in take a couple breaths and your walking out just about rolling on the ground laughing.
Both my experiences were fun and full of laughter. I don't see what the big deal is or why it's even illegal.

I've never been to a drinking event or a bar where someone didn't get loud and a fight broke out, yet stoners seem to somehow avoid violence.
Probably because it's just to funny when they try.
Mini scuba divers...lol
