He rocks! With the apporoaching monster storm, he has made a decision to allow people to bring their pets aboard MTA transportation( public transportation) , if they must evacuate, so long as the dogs are muzzled and acts are in carriers. KUDOS, Gov Cuomo- how nice to have someone with a heart, as a Gov!!! I guess his motto is no dog left behind :) Thats so rare, these days...

certainly makes a change from what happened in N'Orleans.

It does seem like there's more recognition, after Katrina, that there's a huge segment of the US population who will NOT leave their animals behind at all, and an equally large group that won't leave them behind until they are absolutely physically forced to do so by law enforcement.  During the wildfires in CO earlier this year, provisions for both housepets AND livestock were made IN ADVANCE of the evacuation of the areas at risk...it was a relief knowing my friends out there were able to take their Mastiffs to the refuge center WITH them when they were forced to 'bug out' as the fire came into their back yard... Hope the authorities in the other states in Sandy's path are as smart and reasonable!  A lot fewer human lives will be lost if they all make this provision.

Now he is even MORE amazing! Pets are allowed in all evacuation centers!  This HAS to be a first! What a GREAT Gov!!!! There are mandatory evacuation orders in many areas, with evacuation centers in place, so now not only people, but their pets can be safe. :) Gov Cuomo for President 2016!!!
