Butch England, director of training at Ashville schutzhund club, passed away this morning after open heart surgery, yesterday.

He always fought for what he felt was right for the German shepherd breed, and he loved the sport of schutzhund and was a staunch supporter.

His beloved Fanta, Brook, and Wolfie are there to greet him.

Oh no! Sad news indeed. Rest in peace.

One of my best friends is now gone from amongst us and my heart aches deeply.  Gruff on the outside, this was a man of immense courage, dogged determination, unshakable devotion to GSDs, tremendous GSD acumen and a heart of solid gold.  I've lost my best buddy.  But I am honored to have been included amongst his large circle of friends.  May you now be  in untroubled bliss with your departed dog mates, working the SCH III tracks of the Elysian Fields.  I'll see you there again, my friend, just as soon as my turn arrives.

My sympathies to those who loved him and were left behind...he's in a better place, where there's no animosities between anyone, all the helpers know how to catch a dog safely, and every day is a good day to work the dogs...
