SL - WL Split - Page 1

Can anyone tell me when SL and WL split or what caused them to split. When I look back a number of generations  there seems to be the no difference.

Some of the well informed members on the GSD history mentioned the time the split started, I don't remember the exact year, but I see in pedigrees that till 1970s well known Sires produced offspring that later further helped distinguish the show line and further developed the work line.
Please search old posts where Gustav talked about Mutz/Quanto/Canto contribution to the breed, you will find many interesting pieces of first hand info.

Thanks Ibrahim I will do that I just love researching and understanding why certain things went the way they do and why. I have been going through my girls pedigree and trying to understand where she orginated from ie: WG or if she has any Czech in her blood lines or DDR I know it is not really important but just fun to know. Being new to GSD it can be some what hard..guess that is how you learn to understand pedigree etc.

I hope this post will catch the eye of some of the well informed ladies and Gents here, we could all enjoy our souls reading some interesting info and history, let's wait and see
