Hi I was hoping someone could help me with my dogs pedrigree? it is not about breeding her because she is 16mths been through two heats just want to educate myself on what i'm looking it. Arik von wittenhaus is her sire with his sire and dam being axel von der wittenhaus and yoshi von wittenhaus. ava vom waldron is my pups dam with xavier vom kolenda being her sir and phoenix vom aleman being her dam. so from one GSD lover to another can someone look at the pedigree and let me know what they see.

You would get more help if you put a link in to her pedigree

I checked your dogs lines out. Interesting. You have mostly German Showline, and what I liked and was. Rat.her shocked to see was the old DDR lines, that I like, starting with Flexx.
Very similar to my dogs lines, a couple generation back. I would just love to see a pic ture of your dog

post this in the German Shepherd section of this forum and you  are more likely to get an answer.

Only dam's pedigree shows up. krep, the best to do is get a multiple generation online pedigree of your pup from AKC if you are in the US. Yes you have to pay for it, but this info is more valid than a pedigree here. Then you can enter your dogs information into this database.

And KitKat, did you notice that Flex would have been 11 years old to produce Jazz? Mara vom Steinigtal had progeny from Flex (born 1985) and Dolf vom Clausberg (born1997) listed. Not saying it cant be possible, but this gives one defenitely something to think about. Her birth date is not listed, not even on working-dog. There is no pedigree listed for Dolf on working-dog; which I thought is strange as they always said they would verify everything before listing dogs. Dolf could be a brother of Don, but again he is not listed as sibling of Don on working-dog either.

I did NOT notice that Elkkoor, but I will go back and check it out, and go look into my dogs pedigree. (Thanks).
I guess that is something I really don't look at when reading pedigrees, and I do a lot of researching pedigrees.
I still would like to see what the OP's dog looks like. I am very interested in the outcross breedings and what others produce.
I particularly like the GSL /DDR mix.

I agree, it would be interesting to see the dog. I love the old East german lines; at the end I grew up with them. but today I do realize that the breeding of 100% east decendants is breeding down a bottle neck. Outcrossing is necessary to preserve the qualities that made that east german dog so cherrished (IMO).

When outcrossing to WSL, I would only choose dogs that are very close in type, and compliment each other in drives. Meaning no extremes on either site.
