I was looking through some pedigrees and the GSH-S designation was after several dog's names. Wondering what it means

depends where you're looking at these pedigrees - and who generated them.
The obvious answer would be German Shepherd - Sable -- but it seems terribly redundant to list GSH- in a German Shepherd's pedigree.
That's all I got.
