Dear Aqua - thank you soo much for taking the time to do this for me. I really appreciate it. I'm sorry you had an unfortunate experience with your Leo -- and I read in old threads that you also understand and don't blame the preceeding generations. We are thankful for Karl's legacy, and extremely grateful that we got the puppy we did - just 4 months ago Again, thank you for your help with the translation.

Aqua  - Thank you very much, from me too;  I don't speak German;  when Pineridge asked about this, I
was going to try to find and do this through 'Net translation services but you have saved me or others the trouble.
Didn't know Herr Fuller myself, but have always respected what he and his kennel did for the
GSD for so many years.  A sad loss.

You are very welcome, Pineridge. I saw your request for the translation and thought it best to give it its own thread, hope you don't mind.

Our Leo . . . poor guy drew the short stick when the DNAs got mixed. He's a wonderful dog: intelligent, energetic, loving, and he has a terrific sense of humor. Good with other dogs, not good with strangers. He runs funny but that;s all which remains of his hip surgery. Yes, he'll have some discomfort as time passes and we'll deal with it then. For now, he's up and running strong.

Our other Kirschental lines dog is the love of my life, a gorgeous hunk, allergic to everything he inhales but we're managing it.

We all do the best we can with the dogs we have.

Karl's passing is the end of an era. It was sad to read earlier that Marion is looking for new owners of the remaining dogs but understandable. This must be a very, very difficult time for her and I hold her in my heart.

Many condolences to Karl Fuller's family and friends.  His contribution to the breed outlives him, is legendary and will remain so for very many years to come.
