For the many people who commented on my postingsin the pas regarding Willow, I am sad to announce that she suddenly dropped dead at the vets on Wednesday.
We had gone to see our vet as er lip fold pyoderma was a bit worse than usua & she seemed to be dribbling a lot. We walked into the surgery & I sat down & Willow sat up on the chair next to me as usual making everybody smile, then she just collapsed dead.
The vet said it was heart failure due to Cardiomyopathy. We juust never knew she had a heart prolem & he'd checked her heart evry 8 wks without finding anything wrong.
We're so very sad to lose our special girl as she ws so brave &battled courageously with ill health all her life - Severe food allergies, HD & an underformed femoral head, seizures, anal furunculosis, lipfold pyoderma, arthritis of the spine, etc, yet managed to remain happy & very spoilt.
We didn't expect her to make old age, but dying like this has been a terrible shock. At least she was in the best place for it to happen.
So please say a lttle prayer for Willow tonight, treasure your loved ones everyday & promise to try your best to breed healthy, happy dogs xxxx

LIFE VERY COMFORTABLE. THERE SHOULD BE MORE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD LIKE U.
SHE WAS LUCKY TO HAVE U, AND VICE VERSA I'M SURE. GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO
HEAL. A TRUE GSD PERSON CAN'T LIVE TOO LONG WITHOUT ANOTHER DOG. I DON'T
TRY TO REPLACE THE ONE I LOST. JUST GIVE LOVE TO ANOTHER PUPPY OF THIS
WONDERFUL BREED ! AMEN

Oh dear, what a terrible shock for you, and what a tragedy. My heart goes out to you.
She and you had so much to deal with, but it sounds like you fought all the battles well and with good heart and a deep bond. My greatest wish is that our beautiful dogs just don't have to keep dealing with such terrible health problems.
Bound through those green fields Willow, healthy and whole again.

and lived into double figures; I still miss her very much. A pity they cannot all be with us long enough ...
