I knew it! I just knew it... soon as lay my head down to go to bed around midnight, my daughter came running downstairs (I was sleeping in the guest room to be nearest to the whelping pen) to tell me that our girl was trying to get up into the attic stairs. I knew it was time. Of course this is the day I did NOT take off work and have a 14 hour day.

First pup was born @ 1am. So far we have three sables... two of them almost black. All three are males. Its now 2:40 a.m. and been 40 minutes since the last pup... expecting at least 3 more. It's gonna be a LONG NITE!

U aren't no psychic but you've just expirienced one of God's wonders in human intelligence and in animal reproduction: man learned and able to tell the actual time God's decree of reproduction happens. What an OWESOME JEHOVAH! Good wishes to you and your new family.

Rechecking xrays now.. .we said 7... but more I look at them.. .could be 6... dont know how much longer I should stay up... we've had 6 so far. I am exhausted!!!

Congratulations 6 puppies in 2 hours? that is why I don't xray you are always wondering if there is 1 more.
Any girls?

If that is all there is then you and your girl have done well my whelpings usually take longer than that usually 6 - 8 hours and at night.

Sleep deprivation is NOT good especially if you are going to have a long shift at work.

I called out.. I cant do it... So the whole thing took from 1am to 5:40 am (last pup). Mom has had several helpings of Vanilla Ice Cream and some cottage cheese. I tried to feed her her regular food and she turned her nose up at it...

LOL great job. Mom looks great. Do not feel too bad. It took my poor Rose from 4 am to 10:30 pm to have her 9 pups. Glad the ice cream worked.

Keep the pictures coming. Everyone loves puppy pics.
