Sorry with all my pregnancy and whelping questions!!!  Red Smile

Just curious when the earliest your bitch has whelped?  My other dog went on day 63 (and a half) on both of her litters.  And both times she went early morning.  Which isn't surprising... it's "quiet time".  I am feeling the current mamma-to-be might go early on me... I don't know why.. call it women's intuition.

I've been taking her temperature daily since day 54 (we are on 56 today).  100.5, 100.3, and today 100.1.  She isn't due until 9/12 (7 days away).. I took off work of course for the day before, day of, day after... .so she'll probably go early or late instead... lol.

One female that I whelped went a whole week late with her first litter.  The next year she went a whole week early, on purpose I'm sure, just so she could have her privacy when I went to the grocery store.

I also had 1 whelp a week early -- don't really want to do that again.

Dogshome9... for what reason? (do you not want to go through that again). Not prepared or was it a difficult whelping?

Mine almost always goes early- no issues, ever. Never lost a pup, either, except one girl out of a set of twins who was stillborn.

Doing alot of pacing tonight.. still no digging/nesting.  Though... she has been going into the whelping pen on her own to lay down (and I've just spent the last 30 min laying in there with her just half falling asleep with my hand on her belling feeling all the little bodies moving around.  11:30 at night and she's bugging me to feed her before she goes to bed (done..lol). I'll keep you all posted!
