From this....
To this...in 2 weeks
Ziggy spent Saturday night and Sunday night out of his crate for the first time. The only surprise we got in the morning was his "cannon ball" landing on our bed at 5am. WAKEUP!!!! LOL. No puddles or piles or destroyed items. He has been begging for awhile to be allowed to sleep outside the crate like Echo. He jumps up on the couch and buries his head under a pillow then rolls his eyes at you if you ask him to get in his crate. We'll probably only do this on the weekends for a while...just in case as I don't want to deal with potty problems before I have to leave for work. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised yet I expected it of him. He is so smart and catches on very quickly.

I love those ears, LOL!
My DH just called from the pet store to tell me he just bought our first wire crate. Don't know why he asks me anything though, he'd already had made up his mind. Kept saying, "Well, he's not going to be in there forever!", when he was deciding about which size buy.

Whatever size he bought, put a partition in it to limit him to just enough room to turn around or he will potty in one end & sleep in the other. Poor Ziggy had diarrhea one night. I had to carry him in his crate outside and hose him, his toy and his crate out at about 2am. No fun for any of us. He cried to let me know he needed out but I wasn't fast enough. He hasn't had any accidents in the big crate in several weeks. Hope your DH got one with the removable pan that can be slid out without tipping...came in real handy a couple of times. LOL

These pix were taken in the same week. Who would have guessed they would come up so quick or so big! For a while there we were just hoping he would grow into his nose! LOL Echo had her "ugly duckling phase" too and now she is very striking. Looks like Ziggy will mature into a handsome boy.

I have entered as many dogs as I can to create Ziggy's pedigree. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/search.html?main=db&index_in=All&results_in=25&string_in=Morgan%27s+Zig
I cannot get it to list his Great Great Grand dam on his sire's side even tho she is listed in here as OBLASTNÍ VÍTěZ,V Cessy z Pampy (mother of A Ginie z Pampy CS) I tried several times, even goofed and registered her a 2nd time by mistake and yes, I deleted the 2nd one and I give up.
I have nothing on his sire's side so just listed him as K9 Justice...he is not registered. This will give you something to play with tho.

Hi Deb, I think he is just a very handsome young man. I liks his name too. Does he and Echo get along good? Did she like him in the beginning? Oh and those ears--he does look like he is growing into them in the 2nd pic. Congrats that he stayed out of his crate for the night and did so well. Oh and by the way I know about those dogs dive bombing you so early. Voo does it every morning and she has the doggy door!!!! I think she is telling me it's time to get up and let the puppy out. As soon as Deja hears me telling Voo to quit and yes I know you love me, then she starts crying cause she mneeds to go potty. Gotta love getting loved on first thing in the morning!!!!!!!

Hi Vonissk, thanks for the compliments. He and Echo get along fairly well. They play well outside and romp and chase for hours. He has been good for her. She tolerated him in the beginning but she was never properly socialized with other dogs so she has a quick temper and wants him to know she is the alpha. Hard to do since he came here thinking he is the alpha, LOL. I've had to let them know who the true alpha bitch is in this house a couple of times. For the most part, Ziggy is laid back and easy going and lets Echo have her way but I have seen him pushing his luck and Echo lets him know he is out of line. Echo has certain toys that Ziggy is not supposed to touch yet she will drop them right in front of him then bitch at him for taking the bait. Sometimes he just turns his head...other times he snaps back at her. Echo is my sweet girl but she can be such a pill sometimes. Jealousy is apparent on both sides when it comes to attention from either Paul or me. Good thing I have two hands is all I can say.
