Hi guys

My female GSD who will be 3 next March is kinda on the thin side. Last month  I was surprised when she weighed only 17kg, though she did look normal. She's always been lean so I thought it wasn't that big a deal. She eats 3 cups of a high calorie kibble Go Natural Chicken. It's 570 calories per cup.

But when I learned she weighed so little, below the minimum weight of 22kg for a female german shepherd, I got concerned. So I added a half cup addition to her food, as well as slowly incorporated a tbsp of salmon oil into her diet to boost the calories.

Then a month later, which was yesterday, she gained 3 kilos. Is it just me or is that too fast? Any tips on how quick or slow healthy weight gain is for a dog?

so thats about 7lbs of weight gain in one month?
If she was on the thin side and her body really wanted to put on weight, then it doesn't seem that unusual for me that it packed on all the extra food that you fed her.   Is she intact?  The female's cycles will also cause her weight to go up and down.
I expect that her weight gain will level out soon, if she continues to gain weight fast then you may want to have her go to the vet.   Is she a food and water hog?  Fast weight gain and extreme eating/drinking can signal Cushings disease.
As far as slowing down her weight gain, maybe reduce the food by 1/4 cup and the salmon oil to 1 teaspoon instead of 1 tablespoon.

When slimming down or fattening up, a change in a dog's weight is usually reckoned to be safer at no more than one kilo (2.2 pounds) per  week.  Try and aim at levelling it out at that,
until she's at the right weight FOR HER  ('minimum' weight is only a guide);  but as
Euroshepherd says, its not a surprise that she should increase quite rapidly at first.
