Hi , What is a avrage charge for vet to do OFA . She wants up to $300 .Last time I did it was few years ago and don't think was this high .

You don't have to have the vet submit your xrays
to OFA, you can do that yourself.
Costs for xrays vary geographically.

Cost for our xrays, digital, hips and elbows plus sedation, under $150. Add what, $40 for OFA submission... haven't checked to see what the fee is these days.

For OFA or to get them stamped our vet charges about $250.00 not adding the other fees.

Couple a weeks ago I walked into the vet’s office which is close to my home. (my dog is not being seen by this vet).
Out of curiosity I asked for the pricing for taking the x-rays and submitting them to OFA - hips and elbow. I was quoted whooping $750...I just walked out of that vet's office without saying anything. Location – Calgary, Canada.

Southern Oklahoma--last hips/elbows/and sent in with sedation was a little over a year ago and it was right at 279. But now an hour away, where my mentor lives, he does hers for 125 and she sends them in herself.

Thanks , She wants to digitally send it from her office to OFA and telling me that OFA rules has changed . Good thing I checked over the phone before taking her in .I think my mistake was telling her the magic word : WANT OFA FOR MY DOG . Rather then can you check her hip we might need get her x ray to make sure

Rules have changed. Only vets can submit digitally.

Jenni, just out of curiosity, when did the change take place? I haven't done OFAs in a while.

Around here the prices range from $250-$500.
