Knighthawkranch

Hello all,

I have been GSDless for two years and about to pick up my new pup.  She will be raised as a farm and family dog mainly.  My daughter is almost 8 and this pup will be hers with my guidance in the training department.

I was involved in Schutzhund and training for about 10 years, and due to life happenings, was absent for about 12 years or so.  I am not sure I will be able to participate again but found this forum as part of my research and will be keeping up here.

We are getting a dark sable female and picking her up at the end of this month from Marienhof Kennel here in Florida.

Pup looks adorable! Welcome back! This board has it's crack-pots, but in general it's members are good folks who share a wealth of knowledge about GSDs. It's easy to navigate, & there's always something interesting to read. Many of us feel like old friends, & we try to be helpful & support each other through the good times, the difficult times, the bad & the sad times. We love to share our successes & our brags; but we're happy to try to help with problems.
If you've been lurking you probably already have a good idea of whom to trust.....& who to take with a grain of salt, LOL!
Anyway, good luck! And welcome aboard!

Good timing and good luck.  My 6 year old's experience thus far with our now 9 mos old pup has been positive.

I firmly believe responsible dog ownership enhances child development.

In my opinion, there is no greater job for a WL dog to be a stable, loyal family companion and protector first.

Sure, titling and sports are cool but a dog with sound character and health is a reflection of its owner/family.

Thank-you for the welcome.

It has been a long two years without a GSD in my household.  My last pup (that I bred) died from age/seizures (had to euth).  He was around 14 I think.  The first time in about 30 years that I have not had a GSD of some sort around and I have really missed them.

There are a couple of clubs that are near enough I can go visit and/or become active if I have the oppurtunity.

I have been reading around this site and catching up and will continue to do so.

Looking forward to making new 'dog' friends.

I'd be happy to help point you in the right direction for a club.

Hello I am new to the G S D world also we raised them years ago we had black and tan and a very sweet white one named "Bunny " we got her for our daughter at Easter, she was with us 13 yrs. We have a black and Tan name Saban (we live in Al.) who is 5 months and love him dearly and we are so excited to have him. I have also just found this site and it has been so helpful.
