was wondering if anyone that has had expereince with an out side tie litter , do the pups go full term or can they come early, how many pups did you have ? i am asking as  this is what i had with this breeding and the female is not eating very well, i have to stand over her to  get her to eat ,otherwise she wont eat, only her normal amount, i am pretty sure she is pregant , but i think its a small litter any expereince would be great with this subject- oh she is 7 weeks on wed.  thanks-

I had one incident when there was no tie and we had to help with 'the situation'. There were 6 puppies born... You may do ultrasound if you want to be sure.

We've had no differences with an "outside" tie or "normal" tie.....

yes, i could get an ultra sound done on her , but i did not think she would get preganat off an out side tie , i never knew you could, but have heard you can from other breeders. she is starting to bag now so i am sure she is , but cause she is not eating like a preganat female now  really off her feed , there cant be many in there. ( she usually and excellent eater )

i guess the pups are not taxing her.

she use to eat like she was starving for the first 3 weeks so i knew she scould be. there were changes i have noticed.

at 8 weeks i will feel for pups and will know how many are there.

i was just intrested to hear of any one else that has  had this expereince.

thanks  Robin and   Niesia

I've had several litters from outside ties only,  usually smaller litters than normal, like 4-5 pups/litter.  I also "held" the two dogs together for at least 3 minutes, giving the stud enough time to ejaculate into the bitch.  another thing is you have to feel for the pulsating under the stud's tail to make sure he's actually ejaculating, sometimes they don't ejaculate with an outside tie unless you apply pressure at the base of the studs bulb.

Thanks CMills,
the stud was inside my female  atleast half a dozen times , but he kept coming out ,not sure what he was doing, but the last time he had seimen all over the place and was ereck, so i know atleast once there was seimen as when he came out he was still going at it and i could see   the seimen everywhere.. i can guess maybe 5- 10 sec inside her.
i have never had this happen before so its new for me.

Trixx,

It doesn't sound like a typical outside tie occurred. I'll define a typical outside tie as one where you know the penis is inside and swollen, but, you can feel the male is not tied (bulb is swollen outside vs. inside the female). In this case the two are held together for a few minutes effecting a tie.

It sounds like your mating was a series of penetrations without a tie of any type. Doubtful your female is pregnant from what you described, but it's possible.

there was one time where the stud was in side her and then came out still humping away he was shooting fluild everywhere and when he stopped he was very  swollen , so i think there is a chance , but i always say if its was meant to be. we may or may not get pups, i personally think she may  have maybe 1  or 2 pups in there. she is doing alot of pacing  but is not due for 2 weeks yet. hopefully next week i can try to hear heart beat or feel for any pups as they should drop  by then.this female is a very large girl , so she may not show at all, she usually shows in last week of prengancy with a big litter , so not an easy girl to know.
thank you for all the great information , it all helps.
