Important information for exhibitioners at the Landesgruppen-Zuchtschauen [breeding shows of the regional groups] and the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau [federal winners breeding shows]!
In accordance with the resolutions passed at the Bundesversammlung [federal assembly of the association], which was held on 9th/10th June, we would like to point out to you that, according to § 29 (3) of the statutes of the main association, the following rule has become effective with the resolutions passed by the Bundesversammlung:

Officiating judges of the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau are not allowed to judge any dogs at the Landesgruppen-Zuchtschauen or this SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau which they have owned or co-owned or which have been in their possession in the past 12 months (here, the date of notification of the transfer of ownership shall be decisive) and which have been bred by them, as well as any dogs owned or co-owned by, or in the possession of, close relatives (1st and 2nd degree). For this purpose, the term “close relatives“ also refers to life partnerships, groups of owners and shared households.

In this respect, please note that, as of immediately, any dogs which fulfil the criteria mentioned in the resolution passed may not be judged by the judge of the respective class at the Landesgruppen-Zuchtschauen and the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau

Good to see. Now, if only WDa and USA will adopt the same policy, maybe we see some things change.

is nepotism finally over?

I only wish this  regulation would curb the abuses.  All the people who want to continue the practice of self promotion and promoting the dogs of friends and family will simply just start changing the names on the dogs registrations.

We have seen that with the USCA not allowing members to belong to what they consider competing dog organizations. As a way around it dog owners and breeders have changed the name of the owner on registrations to team members, friends of family and long lost third cousins.

Although people will always find ways to back door this ruling, it's a good start.  Change comes slowly but at least something is being done to level the playing field.
