New pictures of Auggie. I was kind of worried about him turning out skittish lately, the way he had been acting for a while, nervous about ridiculous objects, and things going on, and certain people he sees all the time. But yesterday afternoon he had a complete turn around, so I'm guessing he had just been going through some freak fear stage. He did so well at Lowes yesterday, friendly, let quite a few people pet him, and I lost count of how many people complimented him (I didn't really try to keep count, obviously). Some people knew he was a Shepherd (one called him Rin Tin Tin), but one woman thought he was an Australian Shepherd, one thought he was a Shepherd mix, and another woman told me he's way too skinny. He's 21 and 1/2 weeks (I think, I may have to go back through and count to make sure). Not sure on his weight, but he's just a hair taller than Sierra now, nowhere near as long yet, but he has a lot of growing to do. I'm just glad he's acting normal now as far as objects and people go. We've done some drive building lately, but had to stop playing any tug due to him teething now. He was licking funny yesterday, and I thought he had something in his mouth.....nope, a baby tooth fell out. My nieces have been coming over playing with him, and even at this age.....he absolutely loves children, no matter who it is, whether he knows them or not.

Kind of a stack attempt without actually having someone hold him or take the picture.....back legs weren't positioned correctly I know, and one of the front legs could have been farther back just a little.....but no one else is here at the moment so I couldn't do it like I wanted to so the angle sucked as well.

He's horrible. You should give him to me, so you don't have to be embarrassed walking him down the street. ;)
Love his colouring!
Just tell people he's on a growth spurt if they comment on his weight (which is likely true!). People like chunky animals, I much prefer to have them a bit lighter while they are growing, dogs & horses.

Nellie, I was worried he was going to stay like that, he had been like that for a while....all up until yesterday. I was telling someone just yesterday morning how he has been.......and low and behold when I took him to town he did it like a pro. He did so well.
conspicuous, thanks lol. I think it's the age/growth spurt as well.

Its my experience that telling people 'Its a growth spurt' won't make any more difference to them thinking they are seeing a 'poor starving doggie' than does the full lecture about how 50% of dogs seen by vets these days have an obesity problem; keeping them lean as youngsters reduces the risks as they get older of diabetes, heart failure, arthritis ...
Just grin and bear it.
By the way, I think Auggie's luvly; now, if he'd just grow into those ears he'd be perfect ! xxx
