I really like this pedigree being linebred on Mink, and throwing in alittle , Jago, Pike and Troll, I would say, SWEET!!!
Should def have what it takes to work. I LIKE IT, ALOT!!

Some nice dogs on the paper. Looks like they both have progeny out there. Maybe an ounce of concern regarding hips, but as you know that is even a risk when all the dogs up front are normal. Are the pups on the ground yet? If so, have you seen the litter yet?

work, work, work. this entire pedigree shouts "working ability." we were talking about that just a few threads ago. i donot mean high scoring sport dog----i mean tough, hard, stable, but somewhat bullheaded kick your ass type working dog. you sure you're up to this, bob? ;) if you can't produce some very strong service dogs out of a bitch with this pedigree, i will want to know the reason why. =0

I agree with Ziegenfarm, maybe a tad too heavy on the hardness, and i would keep eye on hips, but obviously a strong set of genetics for toughness.

i have a 10.5 yr old bitch with mink/fero thru sire and renza and borus thru dam's dam-----not so different from the pedigree you are suggesting. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=464383
so i do speak with some knowledge on this type of breeding. she is one tough s.o.b. and i thank god for that because right now she is
fighting for her life. i know that, if things don't go well, i will have to put her down because there is no "give-up" in her make up.

On paper these would be hard, tough workers. My concerns would be the stubborn streak and elbows. Everyone seems to be concerned with the hips but elbows are a problem with some of the dogs in the pedigree. Nice nice pedigree !!! Too much dog for me :) but one never knows what they will get until they hit the ground :)

Agree with most of what has been said so far.
You should find great temperament, and, very smart, tough, hard, fearless working dogs with a lot of aggression. Aggression that can turn on in a millisecond. More aggression than what most people want.
I had two females similar to each side of this breeding at my house last year. One is my dog that I am training and competing with now and the other was a dog that I took in because her owner died.
The two of them playing with each other were like watching a hurricane in my backyard. I had to be 100% on top of them or it could get ugly really quick. The reason I point this out is because they are both dogs that are safe around other dogs if socialized properly, but, they need supervision and need to understand and respect the handler/owner as an alpha. (Bob, I know you are capable of this)
The one thing that I don't think you will find is a stubborn dog. This is because Bob is looking for a female. The females out of breedings like this, I have found, both with my own and others, have been very compliant and very willing to train and please. The type of dogs that live to do something for you if you have the proper bond with them. Don't mistake this for meaning that they are soft. They aren't and won't put up with much crap from the handler or the helper. Again, the aggression is very quick to turn on.
On the other hand, the males I have seen out of breedings like this, again great temperament, but, more of them than not, can be extremely stubborn and quite difficult to train. With the aggression that these dogs possess when it is turned on is bordering on unable to control, even with good trainers. They are dogs that will challenge the handler and if your helper/decoy isn't up to the task, forget it. Definitely not for beginners or someone that is concerned about getting bit. Having said all of that, I do know of one that has turned out incredibly well, all black, Sch3, V-rated in conformation if anyone is looking for a nice male with this type of bloodlines to breed to. He is in Ohio.

incorrect......stubbornness is definately an issue and so are elbows as brynjulf suggested. still, dogs with this type of breeding would make excellent service dogs, but only with the right handler. that would be my #1 concern. these dogs are not for everyone. any officer that thought he could browbeat such a dog, would spend more time fighting the dog than the bad guys
