Is this puppy a long coat or a plush coat?   Thanks!  He was about 13 or 14 weeks in these photos.  Also, what do you all think about him?  You guys are the experts!

I think long coat, or long-stock (long with undercoat).

I'd say long coat, but may grow out of it. I have a friend with a W. German working line male who looked just like that at this age, but did shed of to be standard coat.  But he does carry/produce coats still.

I agree with the wait and see, he does look as thou may shed some of the puppy coat. I did not see any tuff around the feet.

I am certainly not an expert, but being a lover of the long and plush coats, I am pretty familiar with them. I would say plush coat or maybe even standard. In the photos I can't see any tufts in the ears or the feet, but photos can be deceiving. I have a friend who breeds long coats and her pups are much fluffier than your boy, but only time will tell! No matter what, he is gorgeous boy.

No expert here either but my guess is a standard coat.  He sure is a sweetie.  He looks like he is going to be a big boy with plenty of bone.  Sweet expression...need to take the magnets out of his ears though.  If he does like my girl did, he'll slick off in a few weeks and you'll wonder if he will have any coat at all!  Just give it some more time.  It's always hard to tell at this age unless they are just big fluff balls.  Enjoy him, he looks like he's ready for mischief.

"Need to take the magnets out of his ears..."  LOL, you are the funny one, Debbie!

The only way to tell is to wait until he's got his adult coat, then look to see how much undercoat he has (the soft, fluffy hair underneath the long, stiff, guard hairs. My female has a poor undercoat and it is especially thin along the spine, so that's where I'd check. That's just where a dog needs it most to protect it from rain and snow.

It's not something we can see in a photo, unless you part the hair to let us see if there is undercoat.
