my puppy is 4 months old on July 1.  A couple of weeks ago, both of his ears came up for a few days, then one went back down.  I was advised on the forum to give him plenty of things to chew when he started teething and this would exercise the muscles that help the ears come up strong....I gave him rawhide bones to chew, among other things, and he does not want anything to do with them.. He still has his baby teeth.  Any ideas?

You two  are to cute together ,just go to food lion get pork bones, and leave the dog. dont cook just give it to the dog, play games with him , hide around the corner and howl or whistle what every gets him to listen for you,you know when they tilt there head to see where the sound is coming from. They will push there ears muscles to find you . best to him

I give all my puppies RAW Chicken beginning at 3 weeks of age...and have never had a problem with their ears...It can take up til 5 or 6 months old to get their teeth in and for their ears to stay up....

puppies often teeth slowly for many months. i have never heard that chewing helps their ears go up, but i know some dog's ears take a little longer to go up but eventually they will. If u have any issues with your dog chewing excessivly(like on your furniture or other household items) try giving him the rubber nylon bones made for teething and also put some baby oragel on his gums, my mom has done this for years with puppies, and it works really well.

4 months based on the size of that dog.  His elbows look huge.  Is he a Shiloh?

Bondosmom, Four months, give or take a couple weeks. You were told, repeatedly, to give raw bones, NOT rawhide. Hardly anyone would advise giving rawhide for any reason--there is a risk of choking. That pup does look huge, especially for only 6 months. Maybe he is just really fluffy.
