Hi everyone,

This morning I discovered what looks like a small cluster of bumps on my dogs lower lip.  They are the same dark color as his lip.  They almost look like fever blisters on a human.  I am going to have a vet look at it but was wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this.  I looked at pictures of Canine Viral Papillomas, but it doesn't look like that.  They are perfectly round and dark colored.  He isn't fussing over it, doesn't look like it bothers him.  Would appreciate any input.

thanks,
Bernadette

My dog had that - took me about half a year to find out that it was a chicken allergy.
Could be an allergy of any kind - food, food bowl, weed, pollen... try to find out what it is...might take awhile. The vet will probably prescribe antihistamins, which can be a temporary relief.

Some dogs get acne, try looking at pictures of canine pimples or acne maybe?

Well, seems like the bumps went away on their own.  I don't know exactly what it was I was seeing, but, when I went to look, they were gone.  It may have been the way he was lying on one side of his face with his lower lip hanging down.  I don't know, but the vet says if it's gone, don't worry about it.  Thanks for your replies.  I really appreciate it.

Bernadette.
