DDR is East German. OFA is the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and they rate hips at 2 years of age or older. To learn more, go to their website: http://www.offa.org/hipgrade.html When you see an "A" stamp on a dog's pedigree it means that their hips were evaluated by the SV in Germany where they are evaluated at 1 year or older. It is debatable as to which one is better. I hope this helps.

Here is a website I think you will find very beneficial http://www.robertforbus.com/titles.htm It will give you a lot of very basic information about the GSD and Schutzhund, including hip ratings.
