I have a friend who is in the US para-olympics and he is needing to buy a new wheelchair to use during the basketball and rugby games. the wheel chair is gonna run him $2000, I figured I might try to help and see if anyone would be interested in donating to help him buy a wheelchair. He is graduating from UTA the 12th, Sat, with a Bachelors in Art (for photography, webcasting, and videography), and will be staying in one of their grad programs, probably communications. He maintains at least a 3.75 gpa and stays on the deans list for good grades. He is member and photographer for the UTA moving mavz, just competed in the warrior games with the para olympics in colorado, is spokesman for the games with NCAA trying to get it a recognized sport and funding for the schools. he has a traveling art show, and is just a really cool guy. If anyone would like to donate towards a new wheelchair, let me know. I am trying to set up an account or get info so money can be sent directly there. and will be getting more info for interested parties.

Good luck
I have been waiting for a wheel chair for my son as his left foot is suppose to be cut off soon.
I have put in requests two time to the Elks and no response..The member who we do business with in lawn mower shop , had us submit it.
The state agency promised my son one 11 months ago but no wheel chair...
He had one he bought him self and batteries were 285.00 a piece and with no income he sold the wheel chair to live.. a few more months.
Now he cannot work period so we wait and wait and wait...

How very sad, in a country where people pay 6 figures for things like collectible cars, bottles of wine, and weddings that last 6 months or less people who need wheechairs can't get them.

my friend was 9 years old when he was in a motorcycle accident. His dad was driving and he was in the side car (also had helmut and rollcage). the bike flipped over the sidecar, throwing the dad free (he had minor cuts and scratches) but my friend was trapped under the sidecar, he suffered brain damage and was in a coma at baylor for a month, then spent another 3 months till he went home. He has overcome alot in his life (now is 27 yrs old) and is quite the inspiration. He is very active getting attention to disabled athletes and the sports. recently he met Michelle Obama when she visited the para olympic games in colorado a couple weeks ago.
