Hey there, First time poster sorry if this gets asked on a consistent basis.

I'm looking into purchasing a GSD puppies and have been looking hard attempting to find a breeder in my Area (Ottawa). I would like some extra opinions on if this is something to consider or if I should stay away. I am mostly worried about the Dame and in my unprofessional opinion I wouldn't of expected a respectable breeder to breed considering she is pretty old.

Sire:
Basko vom Barmstein

Dam:
Una von der Mitticher Au

Would much appreciate any input :)

Alternatively if anyone knows of any reputable breeders in the Ottawa, Ontario region it would be much appreciated. I don't mind having to drive a while to pick the pup up.
I do have to say I def prefer the look of the traditional German Shepherd that I saw growing up in Germany.

wouldn't consider her too old for breeding as long as she is in good health

Vortexdr,

I don't see where either parents have any type of health certificates, ie: hips, elbows, DM, DNA, etc.  This would cause me to go else where.  There are many other options than to go with a pup from parents like these.

If she is in good health I don't see her age to be an issue. My girl was born out of a dam who was just a month or two shy of 8 years old. Produced 9 puppies and I know she had one more litter after my girl. I assume she is retired now as she will be 10 this year but so long as Dam is in good Shape a litter at 8 or close to, does not concern me at all. I would do the rest of the hOmework though and find out of the homes have been scored by OFa or PennHip. You can confirm by doing a search on OFA website or calling PennHip.

V- SchH 3, KKl 1, couldn't find any results on the bitch, best ask the breeders of the pups for her results

I would also assume that at this age this will be her last or second to last litter.
