Watching Rose's puppies grow and mature is almost as wonderful as watching my son.  Breeders so have it made if this is what they go through for each litter.

Rose's puppies are starting to play with each other, but they don't quite have the depth perception down.  It is way to cute to see them pounce and totally miss the mark.

Now if I could just figure out how to get all of these great pictures.

Hmmmm, maybe in a couple of years I can volunteer  at a breeder to help with new puppies.....

You've only had one litter, so your vision may be a bit rosy.
Along with the high points and sweet moments, there are also many heartbreaking low points when breeding and raising any animals.  It's hard work, lots of overhead, often teetering on the edge of being dead-broke.
An animal breeder isn't a good breeder if they don't have a passion for their animals.  But don't mistake a breeder for "having it made."  There is often far too much heartache, hard work and money loss to be "having it made."

and besides, just wait til you're dealing with a pack of puppies over 8 weeks old every day.
When pups are 4 weeks old they are at their most adorable, angelic stage.  When they get to be 7+ weeks old they can be demons from hell, LOL.
Hope you got a shrieker or two in the litter

And poop. When mama stops cleaning up after them there is poop everywhere. All you do is clean up poop.

Lol...You all busted my bubble....

Yes, I know there is a heartbreak side.  Living on cattle ranches most of my life I have seen that side.

I have been lucky so far.  We pulled Rose out of getting very sick the 1st week and a puppy getting pnenomia (sp) the 2nd week.

I have also been very warned by my vet that the puppies will become the devil's spawn.....
~~~~~~~~~~~
Today though.........Life is great.
Puppies are eating (and playing in) solid food
Puppies are learning to play with each other and toys (and mom, much to Rose's dismay)
Puppies are learning to acknowledge the sound of my voice
Puppies are learning all the new things in the world
This is one of the days to remember above all others.
Oh..yes, I do have a shreiker or 2.   One of the girls has been christened the "Drama Queen."  She so knows how to get everyone's immediate attention.  lol
My puppies are 9 weeks old now and I only have 3 left here (that is 3 little land sharks), my legs will bear their bite scars forever :):).
The shreiker in this family is ME when I have them all attached to my leg, then as I reach down to free myself they relocate to my fingers, arm, shirt tail or anything else they can reach, thats when I call my OH for assistance:):):) Yeah he usually stands outside the puppy run laughing.
I do also have a puppy sheiker, the most heinous scream you could ever hear, it makes my blood run cold, she makes me run every time just because she could possibly be hurt, I think she knows that it always get attention.
Yeah puppies are such good fun..................................
