Admittingly it has been awhile since getting hips/elbows xrays done ,as my other dogs who have all been X-Rayed are much older - so I'm unsure if this is the "normal" procedure now.  Took my GSD in to have hers done by a vet hospital that came highly recommended by working/IPO GSD handlers in the area.  Brought the OFA form filled out with all the pertinent information plus a check for OFA.   They X-Ray her and then hand us a disk and our paperwork back.  We ask what the vet's impression of the hips were and were told "send the disk in to OFA and they will give you their opinion".  We did not get to see the X-Rays until we got home.  So I contact OFA and ask them what the procedures are in sending the disk in.  OFA sent me back an email (very quickly I might add - ty OFA) stating that ONLY THE VET can send the disk in with paperwork and of course the fee.  Now what do I do???  When we made the appointment 2 weeks prior we stated we needed the X-rays for OFA submission ......  Is this the "norm" now - vets give a disk that can't be sent into OFA by the client, they no longer submit the package to OFA themselves and don't even give a consultation about the X-Ray's?  I have contacted the vet, just have not heard back yet.   I'm so frustrated, really don't want to have to put my GSD through another set of X-ray or have to pay for more :(

That is the same link that OFA sent me - showing me that only the VET can send the X-Rays in disk format with the forms and fee:(

I've always submitted disk, signed paperwork and fee in myself. No problems having ANY graded.

No, they mean electronic submission, like email, not like a cd that you mail. I always mail cds.

Thank you very much for answering Jenni and Melba so that a rock like me could understand......I'll send the disk in, signed paperwork and fee.

I've mailed the CD in myself so I think you'll be okay.  Copy the images to your computer first.  Nice to have copies for yourself.  You can pay to get your CD back as well if you want to.  It's $5 extra and just add a note that you want it back.
