This is Brijett.  She is 7.5 yrs old, and never been around small children like this in her life.  After following all the advice I can get on how to introduce her to the kids ( I have 5 grand babies from age 3.5 yrs to these little guys that are 9 mo old now. )  From the time she was allowed out around them, they have been irrseperatable.  She whines like crazy when they leave, and when they come over, she whines like crazy to get out and be around them.  She is very gentle with the babies, and will even listen to the 3.5 yr old she she gives her a command.  Although Brijett is NEVER left alone with them, I'm very impressed by her whole personality with them.
Here is my issues....she is starting to treat them like her "pups"!!! She wants to lay in front of them when they cry or fuss, and scoots up to them like she wants them to nurse.  And when they are wet or poopy...she will go and lick their diapers like she's trying to clean them.  It doesn't scare the babies or anything...they actually start laughing and cooing at her for it....but I don't want her to start thinking she is the "mom" of them either.  Any suggests on how to curb this behavior? :)

Since you are always there, I wouldn't worry because she's just being a helpful nanny. If you see any behaviour you don't like, you just stop it, right then and there.

Sounds like you have a wonderful helper.

This made me smile and cry all at once. I remember what my dogs were like when I brought my babies home. I had boys when the older two were babies but they wouldn't leave they baby's side. One even slept under the crib.........every night. He always slept in my daughter's room.

My friend's GSD just met another friend's 7 month old baby. They were both enamoured with one another.

Dog kept trying to lick the baby all over and the baby was squealing and laughing and holding her arms out to the dog. It was beyond adorable.

The only thing I'd watch is when she scoots up to them, that she doesn't crowd them too much, but otherwise I really wouldn't worry too much.  :)  Sounds like a really sweet dog.

She is very good with the "easy" command!  Which helps a lot!  But at the same time, I'm teaching the children to be "easy" with her too.  I believe the teaching is a two way street! LOL

Ace...I'm sorry, didn't mean to make you cry! :)  I have a few of those..just a few wks ago, we took her and my 3.5 yr old granddaughter to the part together for the first time...and Brijett was actually following her up and down the slides, through the jungle gym, etc....it was a blast! :)
