I found his DVDs via Leerburg and the suggestion of a form member and I think his method of training seems pretty awesome. I was wondering if it works for all dogs or just those SUPER EXTREME high drive dogs that he owns. My girl has very good drive but nothing like some of the Mals shown on the DVD....they are SICK (in a good way
)! My jaw dropped watching the 5 or 6 month puppies on the DVD. Really? Seriously? That stuff is not possible at that level with such young dogs, is it!! Makes me feel like I have a L-O-N-G road ahead of me!! LOL
I am reworking my heel now using his DVD onfocused heeling.
I was wondering if anyone has followed his methods straight through and went on to incorporate the protection stuff.
Also, has anyone heard of any clinics he is doing on East Coast as I only found information about his school when I checked his website?
Thanks,
Sara

I have with great success. Am looking forward to using it on my new pup as well. I really like the order he teaches the Sit Stand and Down in and the foundation work for heeling. I was actually just watching his training with food dvd last night because I am waiting impatiently for my new pup to arrive Wednesday and needed a refresher. Good luck!

Oh, I didn't see the foundation work stuff. Is that on a separate DVD from the focused heeling one?
I know he says in the heeling DVD to cycle through the "sit, down, stand, touch that you already learned" but I didn't see where he went into in the heeling DVD.

Yes, it's called The Power of Training Dogs With Food and was the first in his series of dvds.

the first in the series is The Power of Training Dogs with Markers.......very, very good to get a basic understand of how it all works.

That one doesn't have him in it but does explain marker training. Just watched that one too. Can you tell I have too much waiting for puppy time on my hands? :D

I can tell you are preparing for your puppy - good for you!

Thanks! I know with a solid pup there really isn't too much I can mess up early stages as this isn't my first dog but every time I watch or read anything I get a new bit of information or a new perspective. And I have a LOT of dvds. At this point I think I am just overdoing it really but just in case I am totally ready for the competition heel and jumping out of helicopters. :D Mostly we will just hang out a lot and get friendly and meet people and things and have fun. I know they are supposed to sleep a lot but from what I remember my last one never seemed to, at least not enough to give me any rest. :D
Added: I have to do something also to not just sit here pining until Wednesday. Right now I am watching The Game with Ivan Balabanov. My husband will probably divorce me any minute after a week of these dvds. :D

Hi Sara,
My entire K9 SAR team uses his methods. Many of the members of my SchH club and another SchH club up north of us, train using his methods. I've heard that he has almost completely stopped giving traveling seminars. He primarily teaches at his school now. One of my SAR team mates is going to his school with her dog for a week......really expensive once you include airfare, hotel, rental car, and food. If you're watching his video's I would recommend starting with the training with food, then power of playing tug, then focused heeling.
Have Fun and Good Luck :)
