How can they do that and what can I do about it???
There is another photo but it is obvious that it is not of the same dog.

an experienced trainer had photos of my dogs on his site and i didn't even know him.........
it happens all the time.
contact craigslist and have him booted out.

It happened to me and I tracked the person down and threatened a lawsuit over copyright and the pictures disappeared and never have been reposted that I can find. You can report it as abuse to craigslist and they will remove it. I would also ask craigslist to ban the user name for copyright violation. Not sure if they will but can't hurt to ask. Sorry you are having to deal with this.
Good luck.
Good luck.

That's terrible. I put a copyright watermark all over my images, along with my website address. I've had some people complain but TOO BAD. Of course, there's no way to prevent 100% and it detracts from the pictures somewhat, but at least it helps detract scammers from using the pic.

If it were MY deceased dog someone was trying to use to make a profit, I'd call the SOB up (had his number listed in the ad!!!!) and rip him a new a-hole so big he wouldn't sit for a freakin' decade!
As GSDAdmin suggested, threaten a lawsuit. Say you've taken pictures AND screen shots of his ad, you've already contacted your lawyer and are prepaired to sue for all the slimeball's worth.
Granted, if he's smart, the putz won't call your bluff, and he'll remove the pictures. You can also say, you have until xx/xx/2012 to remove the pictures or I'll be contacting my aforementioned lawyer.
How would the d-bag figure out you don't have one on standby?
I'm so, so sorry for this....makes me sick, imagining someone using a person's deceased dog for profit. Whether or not "Rick" knows he's using a dead dog's photo, it's never right, under ANY circumstances to steal photos for personal gain.
Good luck sweetie,
-Krista and Beau

I read some info about you Dogshome9, you aren't IN America, are you? Well, I'm feeling a bit bitchy at the moment, and being IN Michigan (where the douche bag posted his ad) I will HAPPILY call him for you, if you'd like? More of, it would be MY HONOR to call "Rick" for you...
Think it over, if you decide to turn me lose, I promise, I won't stop battering this turd until he cries.

You go for it! What slime.
I have contacted scammers in the UK before just because they drive me wild, and I lead them on to play them at their own game before dropping them dead, you wouldn't believe what I have been called LOL.
If you start off nicey nicey innocent, you can try and find out where this person is located etc. I don't know what the ad is, but I guess it is advertising pups, so you can say you would like to come and see them etc. ask for all the details - make him squirm. Then deliver your killer blows.
Have fun and do tell what happens!
Dogshome9 - What a horrible thing to find someone doing. DDR will make him pay!
