I've been out of having any breeder bought GSD's for several years AND moved across the pond so this may be totally stupid question and I apologize. In the states and 6+ years ago I knew a lot more about current or even 3-4 bloodlines than I do now and since then my only GSDs have been fosters with dogs who have maybe one Schutzhund or Ch dog in their pedigree waaaay back. One was a really nice solid bitch which was amazingly bred off mostly white GSDs but we did not have plans to keep her.

So I have obviously been scouring the boards (and trying not to post on anything more than a month old) and just catching up. I put a deposit on a pup and will be getting him in a week. Am happy with everything I have read about the litter and people who have siblings.

I keep reading that Pike and Gardefense and Jitsu and Tiekerhook dogs are all very 'hard' (whatever that means to you) dogs and am getting held back pick of the litter.

Basically my question is how scared should I be with the amount of those dogs in my pup's pedigree? (Just kidding, mostly) :D I didn't realize so many were actually often brought up as dogs to look for here and stumbled across this breeding as the best I could find (and am very happy with). I have worked dominant dogs and aggressive dogs before both for myself and for people whose dogs I helped train (was working on my PhD in dog behavior in the States) and maybe trained my first agility dog when I was 11?

I guess my question is do any of you have experience with OLDER dogs from these lines and how are they turning out-work wise? Ideally I'd like to do ring, maybe Schutzhund, maybe protection and really anything to keep my dog stimulated, tracking, obedience whatever. I usually foundation work for everything and see where the pup enjoys itself the most. I was just surprised that these (accidentally discovered by me) names all ended up in new pup's pedigree.

The UK is not very large so I expect some of the members here might be able to share their stories and thanks in aadvance for any who can!
