I have a police officer that lives behind me and I also have a pup thats 10 months old and Ive started a little obedience with him and I can have him bleib for 150 yards easy. Recall is amazing from what the officer says and we tried starting bite work with him last night... He got fired up but he didnt know exactly what to do... Can someone please give me some advice? He has strictly West German lines in case anyone was wondering. His reward is a tug when I work with him. I guess the officer and his wife watch me with him on a regular basis which I didnt know... And they both say he has amazing potential. He had an imported male that was sch2 titled and he knows what hes talking about... but Im just a little nervous.

Find a schutzhund club (or similar working dog club like ring sport, PSA, etc.) in your area.   You need both an experienced trainer and experienced helpers/agitators.

Just because a police officer owned a schutzhund titled dog does not qualify them as someone who is good at training a young dog in bite work.   There are many self-proclaimed trainers and agitators out there who can quickly ruin a young dog with poor training, skipping training steps, etc.

(p.s.  I'm not trying to say that your neighbor isn't a good trainer, I have no idea if he is or isn't, but you just need to be careful about anyone who works your dog in bitework.)
