Can anyone shed some light or opinion?
Thanks

I have a bi-color and his black looks brownish in the light, but it's that fluffy, light puppy fur.
One thing that I KNOW affects a GSD's coat color is Carrots. Fed over a period of time, it pronounces the red hues in the showlines. A lot of showline breeders/fanciers I know of feed it regularly and especially before a big show.

My girl was grey and tan fuzz and finished out wiht a gorgeous strong black long stock coat and her tan is a lot richer than it was when she was a pup.
Until they get their guard hairs in you can never be totally sure. The puppy coat can be very unpredictable.

It just so happened to fall on my GSDs 6month birthday, but that could've been coincidence. 4 of the GSDs I've had over the years ran on this "schedule".
Edited to add the 4 GSDs part.

Healthy nutrition can make your hair look shiny, unhealthy nutrition can make you loose your hair - however, nutrition cannot change the colour of your hair - this is purely genetic.
