Is it ok to move mom and the pups to another room after the whelping?
I have a room set up for Rose and the puppies, but I think Rose will be more comfortable having the puppies in our bedroom. Is it ok if I move her an the new pups to the other room the next day?

Update note...Boy is she ever pregnant. lol. She looks at me with those eyes that say "What have I done? How much longer?" Boy, do I remember that with my pregnancy.
(Yes, I know she is a dog and does not have the same emotions as humans.
)

No.
Not the next day.
That would be adding stress without reason.
Move her where you want her now or wait at least three or four days in my opinion.
She may be a dog, but don't sell her short on feelings and emotions.

NOPE I agree don't move her once she has the puppies. My Gladys for whatever reason felt insecure about where she and her puppies were; came in after my shower and she had moved ALL her puppies in hiding herself.
Put her where you want her to begin with and leave her be. Don't make her feel threatened that her puppies are somewhere else. Nan

The moving of pups by the mom after birth is why I have a nursery with locked in birthing boxes so the mom is in it until I let her out...big , nice floor, hot lights and all the room for mom and pups for long haul till she weans them.
I do not suggest you put her in YOUR BEdroom...ANOTHER ROOM , QUIET WHERE no movements all day and sudden people entery and exiting and you will be disturbed of your rest. Besides the pups stink every time they poop and the smell is not for a home bedroom. I start the birthing box 2 weeks before whelping, and put the mom in there for a couple of hours daily and at night so they know this is the place. If you put her in the birthing box all night for those days before the due date, chances are she will start there without you and there is not a chance she has them in the living room floor or on the back porch..
Choose the other room and I suggest a birthing box..for pups to stay in one place. Many a pup has gotten lost under rugs, bedding etc...If they have a smooth place not able to get out of reach of you then mom will be ok and she will like being in a quiet place.

I always wait at least 2 weeks before moving my moms/pups. They are born in our quiet spare bathroom, and stay there 2 weeks or more. It's a big, quiet room with no activity but her. Linoleum floor, running water, good lighting

Thanks everyone. I will start putting her in the designated room. I have a welping box all set up in there.
